In which God will one believe?

When one talks about ‘faith‘, it depends what one means by ‘faith’, but it also depends if one wants to believe in a god or gods which god one wants to follow.

Some in their search for a god look for someone with whom they feel they can intercede. Preferably, they want to be able to negotiate with their deity. Some speak of a hypostasis which seems to have an inflow on Christendom or Christianity into the trinity through the one as father of all, the spirit as reason (nous) and the son as the corporal being of that which was sent by the divine. There are also those who claim that Christianity is full of all kinds of myths: trinity, hell, an endless punishment of hell, the immortal soul, etc., all things that are not at all consistent with the divine. all things which are not at all in accordance with the expressions of the Holy Scriptures. Even though some of those Trinity believers admit that

Faith is the certainty of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

They prefer to go for a god who has all the human traits and who, like all men, does not know everything. For their god Jesus strangely enough did not even know when he would return or who would sit next to him when he would have his kingdom.

But there are also people who claim that this mystery of the Trinity is just the reason to believe in it and to make it worthwhile to have hope in life.

The Triune God is what makes the Christian faith and life worth believing and living. – Ryan MacGraw

Trinity is purely an object of faith; the plumb–line of reason is too short to fathom this mystery, but where reason cannot wade, there faith must swim. –Thomas Watson

Others believe in the son of God as a second part of the godhead, who is subordinate to the Father, not only in the economy of salvation but in his essence… it grounds the complementarity of men and women on a relationship of authority and submission in the nature of the Trinity. {Beth Allison Barr, The Making of Biblical Womanhood (Grand Rapids, MI: Brazos) 193.}

People come up with all sorts of stories and comparisons, to prove their faith or belief in that Trinity.( It goes from steam of water to avocado’s).

Some even go so fat to say:

If there were no Trinity, there could be no Incarnation, no objective Redemption, and therefore no salvation; for there would be no one capable of acting as mediator between God and man. – Unnamed Theologian quoted in “2002 Surprising Things About God and the Bible”

Where they get that from, God knows. But this does not make sense at all, since Allah has made it very clear that He is the Cause of everything, and not those who come up with such ‘theological teachings’.

What is striking about the Trinity worshippers is that they claim that God always remains the same, yet they do not see the difference between Jesus and Jehovah God.

The worst thing is that the majority of people say “Christian” when they actually mean Catholic or talk about “Christianity” when they mean “Christendom” and claim that all those Christians believe in that three-headed deity, while there are many other types of Christians, some who believe in a two-headed deity and others who believe in only one God as the Bible prescribes. Those Unitarians are often not recognised as Christians by those ‘false‘ Christians, while it is precisely those Christians who follow Jesus Christ’s teachings and worship the same God as Jesus Christ worshipped.

There are those who claim:

Theologians who want to free the church from the Trinity are above all witnesses to a Western dualistic way of thinking. This is based on opposites: two opposing statements cannot be true at the same time. The number one cannot be equal to three. In more holistic, Eastern ways of thinking, on the other hand, truths can exist side by side in perfect harmony. The starting point is not either-or, but both-and. {De kerk van het Grote Gelijk – Dualisme en holisme / The Church of the Great Equality – Dualism and Holism}

Those who then claim that the Trinity is a mystery that cannot be understood by the ordinary person should ask themselves whether the God of Order would bring forward such an incomprehensible concept without providing any clarity. However, the explanations of both God and Jesus are very clear.

Allah declared that man standing in the river Jordan His beloved son.

“وصوت من السموات قائلا هذا هو ابني الحبيب الذي به سررت” (مت 3:17 Arabic)

“And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son. I love Him very much. I enjoy Him.” (Mt 3:17 Basic Bible)

“And a voice came out of heaven, saying, This is my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” (Mt 3:17 BBE)

“And behold a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Mt 3:17 KJBPNV)

Strangely enough, those Trinity thinkers do not want to accept these Words of the Most High. Even though it is referred to in several places in Scripture that Jesus is not God but God’s son.

“وصار صوت من السحابة قائلا هذا هو ابني الحبيب.له اسمعوا.” (لو 9:35 Arabic)

“Then a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son. I love Him very much. Listen to Him.” (Lu 9:35 Basic Bible)

“And there was a voice from the cloud saying, This is my Son, the man of my selection; give ear to him.” (Lu 9:35 BBE)

“And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.” (Lu 9:35 KJBPNV)

But not many who call themselves Christian do want to give ear to that son of God, neither to the God of that son of man and son of God.

Even though Allah asks us to listen to him, those Trinity thinkers do not want to listen to Jesus, who indicates that he is sent and empowered by God and cannot do anything except by the fact that He who is greater than him allows him to do those things.

“سمعتم اني قلت لكم انا اذهب ثم آتي اليكم.لو كنتم تحبوني لكنتم تفرحنو لاني قلت امضي الى الآب.لان ابي اعظم مني.” (يو 14:28 Arabic)

“For you have heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’ If you really loved Me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father. For the Father is more important (or greater) than I.” (John 14:28 Basic Bible)

“Keep in mind how I said to you, I go away and come to you again. If you had love for me you would be glad, because I am going to the Father: for the Father is greater than I.” (Joh 14:28 BBE)

“You have heard how I said to you, I go away, and come again to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice, because I said, I go to the Father: for my Father is greater than I” (Joh 14:28 KJBPNV)

The worst thing is that among these Trinity worshippers there are still people who claim that God has a mother, to whom they also attribute a divine condition. There is also a Titus Brandsma who, under the title ‘Mary in her relationship to the Three Divine Persons’, describes Mary as the one in whom the relationship between God and man becomes pre-eminently concrete.

There are also many theologians who overlook the unity of people and then suddenly see Jesus’ unity with God as proof that Jesus must be God. They forget that Jesus also asks us to be one with him and with his heavenly Father. That would make us Jesus and God according to the train of thought of those trinity thinkers.

“27 خرافي تسمع صوتي وانا اعرفها فتبعني. 28 وانا اعطيها حياة ابدية ولن تهلك الى الابد ولا يخطفها احد من يدي. 29 ابي الذي اعطاني اياها هو اعظم من الكل ولا يقدر احد ان يخطف من يد ابي. 30 انا والآب واحد” (يو 10:27-30 Arabic)

“27 My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life. They will not perish for ever. They are Mine and no one will be able to snatch them out of My hands. 29 My Father hath given them unto me. He is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch anything out of my Father’s hands. 30 I and the Father are one.” (John 10:27-30 Basic Bible)

“27 My sheep give ear to my voice, and I have knowledge of them, and they come after me: 28 And I give them eternal life; they will never come to destruction, and no one will ever take them out of my hand. 29 That which my Father has given to me has more value than all; and no one is able to take anything out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.” (Joh 10:27-30 BBE)

“27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.” (Joh 10:27-30 KJBPNV)

One may wonder whether married couples, who also have to be one, also become or are one and the same person according to them? Likewise, the followers of Jesus are asked to be one. Do these Trinity worshippers think that all those believers who follow Jesus will really become one and the same person?

It is strange that they do not understand this unity between Jesus and God and do not believe that Isa or Jesus gave himself completely to the Father and that the words he speaks to us do not come from himself but are brought to people by the heavenly Father who dwells in him. That same God will also come to the apostles (at Pentecost) to make them work in the same way as their teacher.

“ألست تؤمن اني انا في الآب والآب فيّ .الكلام الذي اكلمكم به لست اتكلم به من نفسي لكن الآب الحال فيّ هو يعمل الاعمال.” (يو 14:10 Arabic)

“Do you not believe that I am one with the Father and that the Father is one with Me? What I say to you are not my own words. The Father, who is one with Me, does His work through Me.” (John 14:10 Basic Bible)

“Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak to you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works.” (Joh 14:10 KJBPNV)

“وانا اطلب من الآب فيعطيكم معزيا آخر ليمكث معكم الى الابد.” (يو 14:16 Arabic)

“واما المعزي الروح القدس الذي سيرسله الآب باسمي فهو يعلّمكم كل شيء ويذكركم بكل ما قلته لكم” (يو 14:26 Arabic)

“And I will ask the Father for another Helper for you. He will be with you forever.” (John 14:16 Basic Bible)

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;” (Joh 14:16 KJBPNV)

“Because you belong to Me, the Father will soon send you the Helper. He is the Holy Spirit. He will teach you everything and help you remember everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26, Basic Bible)

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you.” (Joh 14:26 KJBPNV)

The later chosen apostle Paul writes further about the role of that Holy Spirit, God’s Power that can come to people if they are called by God and want to come to faith. It is that Helper whom we need so much to form our faith.

Faith in the Sent One of God and being one in the brotherhood of Christ is that which makes us co-heirs with Christ Jesus. Being one in Christ does not make us the same person as Jesus, nor does it make us Christ God.

Jesus asked his heavenly Father to send a Helper to the world to spread the faith further. That Helper (the Holy Spirit) is the Power of God that gives us the insight and wisdom, the strength and love necessary to fulfil Jesus’ mission. Unity points to a common project that must be brought to a successful conclusion. In the execution of this common project, there is no question of power or coercion. The fact is that it can only be accomplished on the basis of volition and personal conviction. All human beings have been given free will. Allah calls on everyone to make the right choice.

Even though the Bible indicates that God is a Spirit Whom no one can see, most “Christians” in Christendom choose to take the much-seen man of flesh and blood as their “god”. This in spite of the fact that a spirit has no flesh and blood and Jesus showed his wounds to indicate that he is not a spirit.

“الله روح.والذين يسجدون له فبالروح والحق ينبغي ان يسجدوا.” (يو 4:24 Arabic)

“God is a spirit. If you want to worship Him, you must worship Him with your spirit and full of truth.” (John 4:24 Basic Bible)

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (Joh 4:24 KJBPNV)

“24 اما توما احد الاثني عشر الذي يقال له التوأم فلم يكن معهم حين جاء يسوع. 25 فقال له التلاميذ الآخرون قد رأينا الرب.فقال لهم ان لم أبصر في يديه اثر المسامير واضع اصبعي في اثر المسامير واضع يدي في جنبه لا أؤمن 26 ¶ وبعد ثمانية ايام كان تلاميذه ايضا داخلا وتوما معهم. فجاء يسوع والابواب مغلقة ووقف في الوسط وقال سلام لكم. 27 ثم قال لتوما هات اصبعك الى هنا وابصر يديّ وهات يدك وضعها في جنبي ولا تكن غير مؤمن بل مؤمنا. 28 اجاب توما وقال له ربي والهي. 29 قال له يسوع لانك رأيتني يا توما آمنت.طوبى للذين آمنوا ولم يروا” (يو 20:24-29 Arabic)

I want to touch them with my own fingers and I want to feel with my own hand in his side.” 26 ¶ Eight days later Jesus’ disciples were again in the house. Now Tomas was there. Jesus came in, even though the doors were closed. He suddenly stood among them and said, “I wish you peace!” 27 Then He said to Tomas, “Look at my hands and feel them with your fingers. Feel with your hand in my side. Do not disbelieve any longer, but believe.” 28 Tomas answered Him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Do you believe only now that you have seen Me? How wonderful it is when people who have not seen Me nevertheless believe!”” (John 20:24-29 Basic Bible)

“24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Yahshua came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. 26 ¶ And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Yahshua, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be to you. 27 Then said he to Thomas, Reach here your finger, and behold my hands; and reach here your hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God. 29 Yahshua said to him, Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” (Joh 20:24-29 KJBPNV)

Are you also such an unbelieving Thomas who first wants to see Jesus and then believe that he is, or only then believe his words that he is the sent one of God?

Do you want to believe in this Jesus as God, even though he cannot know everything and cannot do everything, while there is his heavenly Father Who knows everything and can do everything that no man can do?

Bad enough those Trinity thinkers love Jesus to surrender to God and sacrifice himself as a ransom sacrifice to a puny farce. For God cannot die. Allah is an eternal Spirit, so if Jesus were God who is immortal, then he has put on a great stage performance that has fooled us all.

But Allah is an honest God who always tells the Truth. With Him there is no lie.

“ليس الله انسانا فيكذب.ولا ابن انسان فيندم.هل يقول ولا يفعل او يتكلم ولا يفي.” (عد 23:19 Arabic)

“وايضا نصيح اسرائيل لا يكذب ولا يندم لانه ليس انسانا ليندم.” (1صم 15:29 Arabic)

“حاشا.بل ليكن الله صادقا وكل انسان كاذبا.كما هو مكتوب لكي تتبر في كلامك وتغلب متى حوكمت” (رو 3:4 Arabic)

“God is not like people. People lie, but God never lies. People change their minds, but God always does what He says. He always keeps what He has promised.” (Nu 23:19 Basic Bible)

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Nu 23:19 KJBPNV)

“The Strong God of Israel never lies and always does what He has decided. People change their minds, but He is not a man. He never changes His mind.” (1Sa 15:29 Basic Bible)

“And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.” (1Sa 15:29 KJBPNV)

“Of course not! God always remains faithful to His word, even if none of the people are faithful. This is also written in the Books: ‘When God judges, He does so justly. Thus He cannot be accused of anything.” (Ro 3:4 Basic Bible)

“God forbid: yes, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That you might be justified in your sayings, and might overcome when you are judged.” (Ro 3:4 KJBPNV)

Do you want to believe in the God Who is not a man and who does not speak lies? Or do you prefer to believe in the man-made God of whom many images are made, even though God requests that no images be made of Him?

“لا تصنع لك تمثالا منحوتا ولا صورة ما مّما في السماء من فوق وما في الارض من تحت وما في الماء من تحت الارض.” (خر 20:4 Arabic)

“Do not make idols of anything that is in the air, on the earth, or in the water under the earth.” (Ex 20:4 Basic Bible)

“You shall not make to you any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:” (Ex 20:4 KJBPNV)

Allah leaves it up to people to choose which deity they wish to worship, but ultimately their choice will help determine what will happen to them next. Because eventually the world will have to come to realise that there is only one True God, the Elohim Hashem Jehovah. Allah has a Name and that Name will have to be held in high esteem.
